Joas avait sept ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna quarante ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Tsibja, de Beer Schéba.

Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Zibiah of Beersheba.
كان يوآش ابن سبع سنين حين ملك وملك اربعين سنة في اورشليم واسم امه ظبية من بئر سبع.

Joas fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel pendant toute la vie du sacrificateur Jehojada.

And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
وعمل يوآش المستقيم في عيني الرب كل ايام يهوياداع الكاهن.

Jehojada prit pour Joas deux femmes, et Joas engendra des fils et des filles.

And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.

Après cela, Joas eut la pensée de réparer la maison de l'Éternel.

And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the LORD.
وحدث بعد ذلك انه كان في قلب يوآش ان يجدد بيت الرب.

Il assembla les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et leur dit: Allez par les villes de Juda, et vous recueillerez dans tout Israël de l'argent, chaque année, pour réparer la maison de votre Dieu; et mettez à cette affaire de l'empressement. Mais les Lévites ne se hâtèrent point.

And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.
فجمع الكهنة واللاويون وقال لهم. اخرجوا الى مدن يهوذا واجمعوا من جميع اسرائيل فضة لاجل ترميم بيت الهكم من سنة الى سنة وبادروا انتم الى هذا الأمر. فلم يبادر اللاويون.

Le roi appela Jehojada, le souverain sacrificateur, et lui dit: Pourquoi n'as-tu pas veillé à ce que les Lévites apportassent de Juda et de Jérusalem l'impôt ordonné par Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, et mis sur l'assemblée d'Israël pour la tente du témoignage?

And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the LORD, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?
فدعا الملك يهوياداع الراس وقال له لماذا لم تطلب من اللاويين ان ياتوا من يهوذا واورشليم بجزية موسى عبد الرب وجماعة اسرائيل لخيمة الشهادة.

Car l'impie Athalie et ses fils ont ravagé la maison de Dieu et fait servir pour les Baals toutes les choses consacrées à la maison de l'Éternel.

For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.
لان بني عثليا الخبيثة قد هدموا بيت الله وصيّروا كل اقداس بيت الرب للبعليم.

Alors le roi ordonna qu'on fît un coffre, et qu'on le plaçât à la porte de la maison de l'Éternel, en dehors.

And at the king's commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the LORD.
وأمر الملك فعملوا صندوقا وجعلوه في باب بيت الرب خارجا

Et l'on publia dans Juda et dans Jérusalem qu'on apportât à l'Éternel l'impôt mis par Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, sur Israël dans le désert.

And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
ونادوا في يهوذا واورشليم بان يأتوا الى الرب بجزية موسى عبد الرب المفروضة على اسرائيل في البرية.

Tous les chefs et tout le peuple s'en réjouirent, et l'on apporta et jeta dans le coffre tout ce qu'on avait à payer.

And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
ففرح كل الرؤساء وكل الشعب وادخلوا والقوا في الصندوق حتى امتلأ.

Quand c'était le moment où les Lévites, voyant qu'il y avait beaucoup d'argent dans le coffre, devaient le livrer aux inspecteurs royaux, le secrétaire du roi et le commissaire du souverain sacrificateur venaient vider le coffre; ils le prenaient et le remettaient à sa place; ils faisaient ainsi journellement, et ils recueillirent de l'argent en abondance.

Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king's office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the high priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
وحينما كان يؤتى بالصندوق الى وكالة الملك ليد اللاويين عندما يرون ان الفضة قد كثرت كان ياتي كاتب الملك ووكيل الكاهن الراس ويفرغان الصندوق ثم يحملانه ويردانه الى مكانه هكذا كانوا يفعلون يوما فيوم حتى جمعوا فضة بكثرة.

Le roi et Jehojada le donnaient à ceux qui étaient chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel, et qui prenaient à gage des tailleurs de pierres et des charpentiers pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel, et aussi des ouvriers en fer ou en airain pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel.

And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the LORD, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the LORD.
ودفعها الملك ويهوياداع لعاملي شغل خدمة بيت الرب وكانوا يستأجرون نحاتين ونجارين لتجديد بيت الرب وللعاملين في الحديد والنحاس ايضا لترميم بيت الرب.

Ceux qui étaient chargés de l'ouvrage travaillèrent, et les réparations s'exécutèrent par leurs soins; ils remirent en état la maison de Dieu et la consolidèrent.

So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.
فعمل عاملوا الشغل ونجح العمل بايديهم واقاموا بيت الله على رسمه وثبتوه.

Lorsqu'ils eurent achevé, ils apportèrent devant le roi et devant Jehojada le reste de l'argent; et l'on en fit des ustensiles pour la maison de l'Éternel, des ustensiles pour le service et pour les holocaustes, des coupes, et d'autres ustensiles d'or et d'argent. Et, pendant toute la vie de Jehojada, on offrit continuellement des holocaustes dans la maison de l'Éternel.

And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the LORD, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoiada.
ولما اكملوا أتوا الى ما بين يدي الملك ويهوياداع ببقية الفضة وعملوها آنية لبيت الرب آنية خدمة واصعاد وصحونا وآنية ذهب وفضة. وكانوا يصعدون محرقات في بيت الرب دائما كل ايام يهوياداع

Jehojada mourut, âgé et rassasié de jours; il avait à sa mort cent trente ans.

But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.
وشاخ يهوياداع وشبع من الايام ومات. كان ابن مئة وثلاثين سنة عند وفاته.

On l'enterra dans la ville de David avec les rois, parce qu'il avait fait du bien en Israël, et à l'égard de Dieu et à l'égard de sa maison.

And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.
فدفنوه في مدينة داود مع الملوك لانه عمل خيرا في اسرائيل ومع الله وبيته.

Après la mort de Jehojada, les chefs de Juda vinrent se prosterner devant le roi. Alors le roi les écouta.

Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.
وبعد موت يهوياداع جاء رؤساء يهوذا وسجدوا للملك. حينئذ سمع الملك لهم

Et ils abandonnèrent la maison de l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, et ils servirent les Astartés et les idoles. La colère de l'Éternel fut sur Juda et sur Jérusalem, parce qu'ils s'étaient ainsi rendus coupables.

And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.
وتركوا بيت الرب اله آبائهم وعبدوا السواري والاصنام فكان غضب على يهوذا واورشليم لاجل اثمهم هذا.

L'Éternel envoya parmi eux des prophètes pour les ramener à lui, mais ils n'écoutèrent point les avertissements qu'ils en reçurent.

Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
وارسل اليهم انبياء لارجاعهم الى الرب واشهدوا عليهم فلم يصغوا.

Zacharie, fils du sacrificateur Jehojada, fut revêtu de l'esprit de Dieu; il se présenta devant le peuple et lui dit: Ainsi parle Dieu: Pourquoi transgressez-vous les commandements de l'Éternel? Vous ne prospérerez point; car vous avez abandonné l'Éternel, et il vous abandonnera.

And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.
ولبس روح الله زكريا بن يهوياداع الكاهن فوقف فوق الشعب وقال لهم هكذا يقول الله لماذا تتعدون وصايا الرب فلا تفلحون. لانكم تركتم الرب قد ترككم.

Et ils conspirèrent contre lui, et le lapidèrent par ordre du roi, dans le parvis de la maison de l'Éternel.

And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.
ففتنوا عليه ورجموه بحجارة بامر الملك في دار بيت الرب.

Le roi Joas ne se souvint pas de la bienveillance qu'avait eue pour lui Jehojada, père de Zacharie, et il fit périr son fils. Zacharie dit en mourant: Que l'Éternel voie, et qu'il fasse justice!

Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.
ولم يذكر يواش الملك المعروف الذي عمله يهوياداع ابوه معه بل قتل ابنه. وعند موته قال الرب ينظر ويطالب

Quand l'année fut révolue, l'armée des Syriens monta contre Joas, et vint en Juda et à Jérusalem. Ils tuèrent parmi le peuple tous les chefs du peuple, et ils envoyèrent au roi de Damas tout leur butin.

And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.
وفي مدار السنة صعد عليه جيش ارام واتوا الى يهوذا واورشليم واهلكوا كل رؤساء الشعب من الشعب وجميع غنيمتهم ارسلوها الى ملك دمشق.

L'armée des Syriens arriva avec un petit nombre d'hommes; et cependant l'Éternel livra entre leurs mains une armée très considérable, parce qu'ils avaient abandonné l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. Et les Syriens firent justice de Joas.

For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.
لان جيش ارام جاء بشرذمة قليلة ودفع الرب ليدهم جيشا كثيرا جدا لانهم تركوا الرب اله آبائهم. فاجروا قضاء على يواش.

Lorsqu'ils se furent éloignés de lui, après l'avoir laissé dans de grandes souffrances, ses serviteurs conspirèrent contre lui à cause du sang des fils du sacrificateur Jehojada; ils le tuèrent sur son lit, et il mourut. On l'enterra dans la ville de David, mais on ne l'enterra pas dans les sépulcres des rois.

And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.
وعند ذهابهم عنه. لانهم تركوه بامراض كثيرة. فتن عليه عبيده من اجل دماء بني يهوياداع الكاهن وقتلوه على سريره فمات فدفنوه في مدينة داود ولم يدفنوه في قبور الملوك.

Voici ceux qui conspirèrent contre lui: Zabad, fils de Schimeath, femme Ammonite, et Jozabad, fils de Schimrith, femme Moabite.

And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.
وهذان هما الفاتنان عليه زاباد ابن شمعة العمونية ويهوزاباد ابن شمريت الموآبية.

Pour ce qui concerne ses fils, le grand nombre de prophéties dont il fut l'objet, et les réparations faites à la maison de Dieu, cela est écrit dans les mémoires sur le livre des rois. Amatsia, son fils, régna à sa place.

Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
واما بنوه وكثرة ما حمل عليه ومرمّة بيت الله ها هي مكتوبة في مدرس سفر الملوك. وملك امصيا ابنه عوضا عنه
