By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
Sur les bords des fleuves de Babylone, Nous étions assis et nous pleurions, en nous souvenant de Sion.
(136:1) При реках Вавилона, там сидели мы и плакали, когда вспоминали о Сионе;

We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
Aux saules de la contrée Nous avions suspendu nos harpes.
(136:2) на вербах, посреди его, повесили мы наши арфы.

For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
Là, nos vainqueurs nous demandaient des chants, Et nos oppresseurs de la joie: Chantez-vous quelques-uns des cantiques de Sion!
(136:3) Там пленившие нас требовали от нас слов песней, и притеснителинаши – веселья: „пропойте нам из песней Сионских".

How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?
Comment chanterions-nous les cantiques de l'Éternel Sur une terre étrangère?
(136:4) Как нам петь песнь Господню на земле чужой?

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
Si je t'oublie, Jérusalem, Que ma droite m'oublie!
(136:5) Если я забуду тебя, Иерусалим, – забудь меня десница моя;

If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Que ma langue s'attache à mon palais, Si je ne me souviens de toi, Si je ne fais de Jérusalem Le principal sujet de ma joie!
(136:6) прилипни язык мой к гортани моей, если не буду помнить тебя, если не поставлю Иерусалима во главе веселия моего.

Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof.
Éternel, souviens-toi des enfants d'Édom, Qui, dans la journée de Jérusalem, Disaient: Rasez, rasez Jusqu'à ses fondements!
(136:7) Припомни, Господи, сынам Едомовым день Иерусалима, когда ониговорили: „разрушайте, разрушайте до основания его".

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Fille de Babylone, la dévastée, Heureux qui te rend la pareille, Le mal que tu nous as fait!
(136:8) Дочь Вавилона, опустошительница! блажен, кто воздаст тебе за то,что ты сделала нам!

Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Heureux qui saisit tes enfants, Et les écrase sur le roc!
(136:9) Блажен, кто возьмет и разобьет младенцев твоих о камень!
