La femme sage bâtit sa maison, Et la femme insensée la renverse de ses propres mains.
حكمة المرأة تبني بيتها والحماقة تهدمه بيدها.
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Celui qui marche dans la droiture craint l'Éternel, Mais celui qui prend des voies tortueuses le méprise.
السالك باستقامته يتقي الرب والمعوج طرقه يحتقره.
He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

Dans la bouche de l'insensé est une verge pour son orgueil, Mais les lèvres des sages les gardent.
في فم الجاهل قضيب لكبريائه. اما شفاه الحكماء فتحفظهم.
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

S'il n'y a pas de boeufs, la crèche est vide; C'est à la vigueur des boeufs qu'on doit l'abondance des revenus.
حيث لا بقر فالمعلف فارغ. وكثرة الغلة بقوة الثور.
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Un témoin fidèle ne ment pas, Mais un faux témoin dit des mensonges.
الشاهد الامين لن يكذب والشاهد الزور يتفوه بالاكاذيب.
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Le moqueur cherche la sagesse et ne la trouve pas, Mais pour l'homme intelligent la science est chose facile.
المستهزئ يطلب الحكمة ولا يجدها. والمعرفة هينة للفهيم.
A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Éloigne-toi de l'insensé; Ce n'est pas sur ses lèvres que tu aperçois la science.
اذهب من قدام رجل جاهل اذ لا تشعر بشفتي معرفة.
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

La sagesse de l'homme prudent, c'est l'intelligence de sa voie; La folie des insensés, c'est la tromperie.
حكمة الذكي فهم طريقه وغباوة الجهال غش.
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Les insensés se font un jeu du péché, Mais parmi les hommes droits se trouve la bienveillance.
الجهال يستهزئون بالاثم. وبين المستقيمين رضى.
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Le coeur connaît ses propres chagrins, Et un étranger ne saurait partager sa joie.
القلب يعرف مرارة نفسه. وبفرحه لا يشاركه غريب
The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

La maison des méchants sera détruite, Mais la tente des hommes droits fleurira.
بيت الاشرار يخرب وخيمة المستقيمين تزهر.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

Telle voie paraît droite à un homme, Mais son issue, c'est la voie de la mort.
توجد طريق تظهر للانسان مستقيمة وعاقبتها طرق الموت.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Au milieu même du rire le coeur peut être affligé, Et la joie peut finir par la détresse.
ايضا في الضحك يكتئب القلب وعاقبة الفرح حزن.
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

Celui dont le coeur s'égare se rassasie de ses voies, Et l'homme de bien se rassasie de ce qui est en lui.
المرتد في القلب يشبع من طرقه والرجل الصالح مما عنده.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

L'homme simple croit tout ce qu'on dit, Mais l'homme prudent est attentif à ses pas.
الغبي يصدق كل كلمة والذكي ينتبه الى خطواته.
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Le sage a de la retenue et se détourne du mal, Mais l'insensé est arrogant et plein de sécurité.
الحكيم يخشى ويحيد عن الشر والجاهل يتصلف ويثق.
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Celui qui est prompt à la colère fait des sottises, Et l'homme plein de malice s'attire la haine.
السريع الغضب يعمل بالحمق وذو المكايد يشنأ.
He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Les simples ont en partage la folie, Et les hommes prudents se font de la science une couronne.
الاغبياء يرثون الحماقة والاذكياء يتوجون بالمعرفة.
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Les mauvais s'inclinent devant les bons, Et les méchants aux portes du juste.
الاشرار ينحنون امام الاخيار والاثمة لدى ابواب الصدّيق.
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

Le pauvre est odieux même à son ami, Mais les amis du riche sont nombreux.
ايضا من قريبه يبغض الفقير ومحبو الغني كثيرون.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

Celui qui méprise son prochain commet un péché, Mais heureux celui qui a pitié des misérables!
من يحتقر قريبه يخطئ ومن يرحم المساكين فطوبى له
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Ceux qui méditent le mal ne s'égarent-ils pas? Mais ceux qui méditent le bien agissent avec bonté et fidélité.
اما يضل مخترعو الشر. اما الرحمة والحق فيهديان مخترعي الخير
Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Tout travail procure l'abondance, Mais les paroles en l'air ne mènent qu'à la disette.
في كل تعب منفعة. وكلام الشفتين انما هو الى الفقر.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

La richesse est une couronne pour les sages; La folie des insensés est toujours de la folie.
تاج الحكماء غناهم. تقدم الجهال حماقة.
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

Le témoin véridique délivre des âmes, Mais le trompeur dit des mensonges.
الشاهد الامين منجي النفوس. ومن يتفوه بالاكاذيب فغش.
A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Celui qui craint l'Éternel possède un appui ferme, Et ses enfants ont un refuge auprès de lui.
في مخافة الرب ثقة شديدة ويكون لبنيه ملجأ.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

La crainte de l'Éternel est une source de vie, Pour détourner des pièges de la mort.
مخافة الرب ينبوع حياة للحيدان عن اشراك الموت.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Quand le peuple est nombreux, c'est la gloire d'un roi; Quand le peuple manque, c'est la ruine du prince.
في كثرة الشعب زينة الملك. وفي عدم القوم هلاك الامير.
In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

Celui qui est lent à la colère a une grande intelligence, Mais celui qui est prompt à s'emporter proclame sa folie.
بطيء الغضب كثير الفهم. وقصير الروح معلي الحمق.
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Un coeur calme est la vie du corps, Mais l'envie est la carie des os.
حياة الجسد هدوء القلب ونخر العظام الحسد.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Opprimer le pauvre, c'est outrager celui qui l'a fait; Mais avoir pitié de l'indigent, c'est l'honorer.
ظالم الفقير يعير خالقه ويمجده راحم المسكين.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

Le méchant est renversé par sa méchanceté, Mais le juste trouve un refuge même en sa mort.
الشرير يطرد بشره. اما الصدّيق فواثق عند موته.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

Dans un coeur intelligent repose la sagesse, Mais au milieu des insensés elle se montre à découvert.
في قلب الفهيم تستقر الحكمة وما في داخل الجهال يعرف.
Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

La justice élève une nation, Mais le péché est la honte des peuples.
البر يرفع شان الامة وعار الشعوب الخطية.
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

La faveur du roi est pour le serviteur prudent, Et sa colère pour celui qui fait honte.
رضوان الملك على العبد الفطن وسخطه يكون على المخزي
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
