الجواب الليّن يصرف الغضب والكلام الموجع يهيج السخط.
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Une réponse douce calme la fureur, Mais une parole dure excite la colère.

لسان الحكماء يحسن المعرفة وفم الجهال ينبع حماقة.
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
La langue des sages rend la science aimable, Et la bouche des insensés répand la folie.

في كل مكان عينا الرب مراقبتين الطالحين والصالحين.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Les yeux de l'Éternel sont en tout lieu, Observant les méchants et les bons.

هدوء اللسان شجرة حياة واعوجاجه سحق في الروح.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
La langue douce est un arbre de vie, Mais la langue perverse brise l'âme.

الاحمق يستهين بتأديب ابيه اما مراعي التوبيخ فيذكى.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
L'insensé dédaigne l'instruction de son père, Mais celui qui a égard à la réprimande agit avec prudence.

في بيت الصدّيق كنز عظيم وفي دخل الاشرار كدر.
In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
Il y a grande abondance dans la maison du juste, Mais il y a du trouble dans les profits du méchant.

شفاه الحكماء تذر معرفة. اما قلب الجهال فليس كذلك
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
Les lèvres des sages répandent la science, Mais le coeur des insensés n'est pas droit.

ذبيحة الاشرار مكرهة الرب وصلاة المستقيمين مرضاته.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Le sacrifice des méchants est en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais la prière des hommes droits lui est agréable.

مكرهة الرب طريق الشرير. وتابع البر يحبه.
The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
La voie du méchant est en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais il aime celui qui poursuit la justice.

تأديب شر لتارك الطريق. مبغض التوبيخ يموت.
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Une correction sévère menace celui qui abandonne le sentier; Celui qui hait la réprimande mourra.

الهاوية والهلاك امام الرب. كم بالحري قلوب بني آدم.
Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
Le séjour des morts et l'abîme sont devant l'Éternel; Combien plus les coeurs des fils de l'homme!

المستهزئ لا يحب موبخه. الى الحكماء لا يذهب.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
Le moqueur n'aime pas qu'on le reprenne, Il ne va point vers les sages.

القلب الفرحان يجعل الوجه طلقا وبحزن القلب تنسحق الروح.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Un coeur joyeux rend le visage serein; Mais quand le coeur est triste, l'esprit est abattu.

قلب الفهيم يطلب معرفة وفم الجهال يرعى حماقة.
The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Un coeur intelligent cherche la science, Mais la bouche des insensés se plaît à la folie.

كل ايام الحزين شقية. اما طيب القلب فوليمة دائمة.
All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Tous les jours du malheureux sont mauvais, Mais le coeur content est un festin perpétuel.

القليل مع مخافة الرب خير من كنز عظيم مع همّ.
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
Mieux vaut peu, avec la crainte de l'Éternel, Qu'un grand trésor, avec le trouble.

اكلة من البقول حيث تكون المحبة خير من ثور معلوف ومعه بغضة.
Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Mieux vaut de l'herbe pour nourriture, là où règne l'amour, Qu'un boeuf engraissé, si la haine est là.

الرجل الغضوب يهيج الخصومة وبطيء الغضب يسكّن الخصام.
A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Un homme violent excite des querelles, Mais celui qui est lent à la colère apaise les disputes.

طريق الكسلان كسياج من شوك وطريق المستقيمين منهج.
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
Le chemin du paresseux est comme une haie d'épines, Mais le sentier des hommes droits est aplani.

الابن الحكيم يسرّ اباه والرجل الجاهل يحتقر امه.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Un fils sage fait la joie de son père, Et un homme insensé méprise sa mère.

الحماقة فرح لناقص الفهم. اما ذو الفهم فيقوّم سلوكه.
Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
La folie est une joie pour celui qui est dépourvu de sens, Mais un homme intelligent va le droit chemin.

مقاصد بغير مشورة تبطل وبكثرة المشيرين تقوم.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Les projets échouent, faute d'une assemblée qui délibère; Mais ils réussissent quand il y a de nombreux conseillers.

للانسان فرح بجواب فمه والكلمة في وقتها ما احسنها.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
On éprouve de la joie à donner une réponse de sa bouche; Et combien est agréable une parole dite à propos!

طريق الحياة للفطن الى فوق للحيدان عن الهاوية من تحت.
The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Pour le sage, le sentier de la vie mène en haut, Afin qu'il se détourne du séjour des morts qui est en bas.

الرب يقلع بيت المتكبرين ويوطد تخم الارملة.
The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
L'Éternel renverse la maison des orgueilleux, Mais il affermit les bornes de la veuve.

مكرهة الرب افكار الشرير وللاطهار كلام حسن.
The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
Les pensées mauvaises sont en horreur à l'Éternel, Mais les paroles agréables sont pures à ses yeux.

المولع بالكسب يكدر بيته. والكاره الهدايا يعيش.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Celui qui est avide de gain trouble sa maison, Mais celui qui hait les présents vivra.

قلب الصدّيق يتفكر بالجواب وفم الاشرار ينبع شرورا
The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Le coeur du juste médite pour répondre, Mais la bouche des méchants répand des méchancetés.

الرب بعيد عن الاشرار ويسمع صلاة الصدّيقين.
The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
L'Éternel s'éloigne des méchants, Mais il écoute la prière des justes.

نور العينين يفرّح القلب. الخبر الطيب يسمن العظام.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
Ce qui plaît aux yeux réjouit le coeur; Une bonne nouvelle fortifie les membres.

الاذن السامعة توبيخ الحياة تستقر بين الحكماء.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
L'oreille attentive aux réprimandes qui mènent à la vie Fait son séjour au milieu des sages.

من يرفض التأديب يرذل نفسه ومن يسمع للتوبيخ يقتني فهما.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
Celui qui rejette la correction méprise son âme, Mais celui qui écoute la réprimande acquiert l'intelligence.

مخافة الرب ادب وحكمة وقبل الكرامة التواضع
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
La crainte de l'Éternel enseigne la sagesse, Et l'humilité précède la gloire.
