المعتزل يطلب شهوته. بكل مشورة يغتاظ.
Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
Celui qui se tient à l'écart cherche ce qui lui plaît, Il s'irrite contre tout ce qui est sage.

الجاهل لا يسرّ بالفهم بل بكشف قلبه.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
Ce n'est pas à l'intelligence que l'insensé prend plaisir, C'est à la manifestation de ses pensées.

اذا جاء الشرير جاء الاحتقار ايضا ومع الهوان عار.
When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
Quand vient le méchant, vient aussi le mépris; Et avec la honte, vient l'opprobre.

كلمات فم الانسان مياه عميقة. نبع الحكمة نهر مندفق.
The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
Les paroles de la bouche d'un homme sont des eaux profondes; La source de la sagesse est un torrent qui jaillit.

رفع وجه الشرير ليس حسنا لاخطاء الصدّيق في القضاء.
It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
Il n'est pas bon d'avoir égard à la personne du méchant, Pour faire tort au juste dans le jugement.

شفتا الجاهل تداخلان في الخصومة وفمه يدعو بضربات.
A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
Les lèvres de l'insensé se mêlent aux querelles, Et sa bouche provoque les coups.

فم الجاهل مهلكة له وشفتاه شرك لنفسه.
A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
La bouche de l'insensé cause sa ruine, Et ses lèvres sont un piège pour son âme.

كلام النمّام مثل لقم حلوة وهو ينزل الى مخادع البطن.
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Les paroles du rapporteur sont comme des friandises, Elles descendent jusqu'au fond des entrailles.

ايضا المتراخي في عمله هو اخو المسرف
He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Celui qui se relâche dans son travail Est frère de celui qui détruit.

اسم الرب برج حصين. يركض اليه الصدّيق ويتمنّع.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Le nom de l'Éternel est une tour forte; Le juste s'y réfugie, et se trouve en sûreté.

ثروة الغني مدينته الحصينة ومثل سور عال في تصوره.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
La fortune est pour le riche une ville forte; Dans son imagination, c'est une haute muraille.

قبل الكسر يتكبر قلب الانسان وقبل الكرامة التواضع.
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.
Avant la ruine, le coeur de l'homme s'élève; Mais l'humilité précède la gloire.

من يجيب عن امر قبل ان يسمعه فله حماقة وعار.
He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.
Celui qui répond avant d'avoir écouté Fait un acte de folie et s'attire la confusion.

روح الانسان تحتمل مرضه. اما الروح المكسورة فمن يحملها.
The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
L'esprit de l'homme le soutient dans la maladie; Mais l'esprit abattu, qui le relèvera?

قلب الفهيم يقتني معرفة واذن الحكماء تطلب علما.
The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
Un coeur intelligent acquiert la science, Et l'oreille des sages cherche la science.

هدية الانسان ترحب له وتهديه الى امام العظماء.
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
Les présents d'un homme lui élargissent la voie, Et lui donnent accès auprès des grands.

الاول في دعواه محق. فياتي رفيقه ويفحصه.
He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.
Le premier qui parle dans sa cause paraît juste; Vient sa partie adverse, et on l'examine.

القرعة تبطل الخصومات وتفصل بين الاقوياء.
The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
Le sort fait cesser les contestations, Et décide entre les puissants.

الاخ امنع من مدينة حصينة والمخاصمات كعارضة قلعة
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Des frères sont plus intraitables qu'une ville forte, Et leurs querelles sont comme les verrous d'un palais.

من ثمر فم الانسان يشبع بطنه. من غلة شفتيه يشبع.
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
C'est du fruit de sa bouche que l'homme rassasie son corps, C'est du produit de ses lèvres qu'il se rassasie.

الموت والحياة في يد اللسان واحباؤه ياكلون ثمره.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
La mort et la vie sont au pouvoir de la langue; Quiconque l'aime en mangera les fruits.

من يجد زوجة يجد خيرا وينال رضى من الرب.
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
Celui qui trouve une femme trouve le bonheur; C'est une grâce qu'il obtient de l'Éternel.

بتضرعات يتكلم الفقير. والغني يجاوب بخشونة.
The poor useth entreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.
Le pauvre parle en suppliant, Et le riche répond avec dureté.

المكثر الاصحاب يخرب نفسه. ولكن يوجد محب ألزق من الاخ
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Celui qui a beaucoup d'amis les a pour son malheur, Mais il est tel ami plus attaché qu'un frère.
