백성들이 가로되 ‘왕은 나가지 마소서 우리가 도망할지라도 저희는 우리에게 주의하지 아니할 터이요 우리가 절반이나 죽을지라도 우리에게 주의하지 아니할 터이라 왕은 우리 만명보다 중하시오니 왕은 성에 계시다가 우리를 도우심이 좋으니이다’
But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.
