And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
Toute la terre avait une seule langue et les mêmes mots.
وكانت الارض كلها لسانا واحدا ولغة واحدة.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
Comme ils étaient partis de l'orient, ils trouvèrent une plaine au pays de Schinear, et ils y habitèrent.
وحدث في ارتحالهم شرقا انهم وجدوا بقعة في ارض شنعار وسكنوا هناك.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
Ils se dirent l'un à l'autre: Allons! faisons des briques, et cuisons-les au feu. Et la brique leur servit de pierre, et le bitume leur servit de ciment.
وقال بعضهم لبعض هلم نصنع لبنا ونشويه شيا. فكان لهم اللبن مكان الحجر وكان لهم الحمر مكان الطين.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Ils dirent encore: Allons! bâtissons-nous une ville et une tour dont le sommet touche au ciel, et faisons-nous un nom, afin que nous ne soyons pas dispersés sur la face de toute la terre.
وقالوا هلم نبن لانفسنا مدينة وبرجا راسه بالسماء. ونصنع لانفسنا اسما لئلا نتبدد على وجه كل الارض.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
L'Éternel descendit pour voir la ville et la tour que bâtissaient les fils des hommes.
فنزل الرب لينظر المدينة والبرج اللذين كان بنو آدم يبنونهما.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Et l'Éternel dit: Voici, ils forment un seul peuple et ont tous une même langue, et c'est là ce qu'ils ont entrepris; maintenant rien ne les empêcherait de faire tout ce qu'ils auraient projeté.
وقال الرب هوذا شعب واحد ولسان واحد لجميعهم وهذا ابتداؤهم بالعمل. والآن لا يمتنع عليهم كل ما ينوون ان يعملوه.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Allons! descendons, et là confondons leur langage, afin qu'ils n'entendent plus la langue, les uns des autres.
هلم ننزل ونبلبل هناك لسانهم حتى لا يسمع بعضهم لسان بعض.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Et l'Éternel les dispersa loin de là sur la face de toute la terre; et ils cessèrent de bâtir la ville.
فبددهم الرب من هناك على وجه كل الارض. فكفّوا عن بنيان المدينة.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
C'est pourquoi on l'appela du nom de Babel, car c'est là que l'Éternel confondit le langage de toute la terre, et c'est de là que l'Éternel les dispersa sur la face de toute la terre.
لذلك دعي اسمها بابل. لان الرب هناك بلبل لسان كل الارض. ومن هناك بددهم الرب على وجه كل الارض

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:
Voici la postérité de Sem. Sem, âgé de cent ans, engendra Arpacschad, deux ans après le déluge.
هذه مواليد سام. لما كان سام ابن مئة سنة ولد ارفكشاد بعد الطوفان بسنتين.

And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
Sem vécut, après la naissance d'Arpacschad, cinq cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش سام بعدما ولد ارفكشاد خمس مئة سنة وولد بنين وبنات.

And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:
Arpacschad, âgé de trente-cinq ans, engendra Schélach.
وعاش ارفكشاد خمسا وثلاثين سنة وولد شالح.

And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.
Arpacschad vécut, après la naissance de Schélach, quatre cent trois ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش ارفكشاد بعدما ولد شالح اربع مئة وثلث سنين وولد بنين وبنات.

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:
Schélach, âgé de trente ans, engendra Héber.
وعاش شالح ثلاثين سنة وولد عابر.

And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.
Schélach vécut, après la naissance d'Héber, quatre cent trois ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش شالح بعدما ولد عابر اربع مئة وثلث سنين وولد بنين وبنات.

And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:
Héber, âgé de trente-quatre ans, engendra Péleg.
وعاش عابر اربعا وثلاثين سنة وولد فالج.

And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.
Héber vécut, après la naissance de Péleg, quatre cent trente ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش عابر بعدما ولد فالج اربع مئة وثلاثين سنة وولد بنين وبنات.

And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:
Péleg, âgé de trente ans, engendra Rehu.
وعاش فالج ثلاثين سنة وولد رعو.

And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.
Péleg vécut, après la naissance de Rehu, deux cent neuf ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش فالج بعدما ولد رعو مئتين وتسع سنين وولد بنين وبنات.

And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:
Rehu, âgé de trente-deux ans, engendra Serug.
وعاش رعو اثنتين وثلاثين سنة وولد سروج.

And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.
Rehu vécut, après la naissance de Serug, deux cent sept ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش رعو بعدما ولد سروج مئتين وسبع سنين وولد بنين وبنات.

And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:
Serug, âgé de trente ans, engendra Nachor.
وعاش سروج ثلاثين سنة وولد ناحور.

And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
Serug vécut, après la naissance de Nachor, deux cents ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش سروج بعدما ولد ناحور مئتي سنة وولد بنين وبنات.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:
Nachor, âgé de vingt-neuf ans, engendra Térach.
وعاش ناحور تسعا وعشرين سنة وولد تارح.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.
Nachor vécut, après la naissance de Térach, cent dix-neuf ans; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
وعاش ناحور بعدما ولد تارح مئة وتسع عشرة سنة وولد بنين وبنات.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
Térach, âgé de soixante-dix ans, engendra Abram, Nachor et Haran.
وعاش تارح سبعين سنة وولد ابرام وناحور وهاران

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
Voici la postérité de Térach. Térach engendra Abram, Nachor et Haran. -Haran engendra Lot.
وهذه مواليد تارح. ولد تارح ابرام وناحور وهاران. وولد هاران لوطا.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
Et Haran mourut en présence de Térach, son père, au pays de sa naissance, à Ur en Chaldée. -
ومات هاران قبل تارح ابيه في ارض ميلاده في اور الكلدانيين.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
Abram et Nachor prirent des femmes: le nom de la femme d'Abram était Saraï, et le nom de la femme de Nachor était Milca, fille d'Haran, père de Milca et père de Jisca.
واتخذ ابرام وناحور لانفسهما امرأتين. اسم امرأة ابرام ساراي واسم امرأة ناحور ملكة بنت هاران ابي ملكة وابي يسكة.

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
Saraï était stérile: elle n'avait point d'enfants.
وكانت ساراي عاقرا ليس لها ولد.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
Térach prit Abram, son fils, et Lot, fils d'Haran, fils de son fils, et Saraï, sa belle-fille, femme d'Abram, son fils. Ils sortirent ensemble d'Ur en Chaldée, pour aller au pays de Canaan. Ils vinrent jusqu'à Charan, et ils y habitèrent.
واخذ تارح ابرام ابنه ولوطا بن هاران ابن ابنه وساراي كنته امرأة ابرام ابنه. فخرجوا معا من اور الكلدانيين ليذهبوا الى ارض كنعان. فأتوا الى حاران واقاموا هناك.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
Les jours de Térach furent de deux cent cinq ans; et Térach mourut à Charan.
وكانت ايام تارح مئتين وخمس سنين. ومات تارح في حاران
