A little every day

Reading plans

Choose a plan

Bible in a Year

Genesis to Revelation in canonical order, 3–4 chapters a day for 365 days. No chapter is ever split, and the extra chapters are spread evenly through the year.

  • 1,189 chapters
  • 365 days
  • 3–4 a day

New Testament in 90 Days

All 27 books from Matthew to Revelation in three months, 2–3 chapters a day. A good first plan if you are new to reading straight through.

  • 260 chapters
  • 90 days
  • 2–3 a day

Psalms & Proverbs in 31 Days

Five psalms and one chapter of Proverbs a day — all 150 psalms and all 31 chapters of Proverbs in 31 days. Start on the 1st of a month and the Proverbs chapter matches the date.

  • 181 chapters
  • 31 days
  • 5 psalms + 1 proverb a day

The Four Gospels in 30 Days

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John — 89 chapters in a month, 2–3 a day, focused on the life and words of Jesus.

  • 89 chapters
  • 30 days
  • 2–3 a day

Old Testament in a Year

Genesis to Malachi — all 39 books in a year, 2–3 chapters a day. Pairs well with a separate New Testament plan.

  • 929 chapters
  • 365 days
  • 2–3 a day

How the plans are divided

  • In order, never splitting a chapter. The chapters of the chosen books are lined up in canonical order. To spread N chapters over D days, day d (counting from 0) gets chapters ⌊d×N/D⌋ up to (not including) ⌊(d+1)×N/D⌋. Every day therefore has ⌊N/D⌋ or ⌈N/D⌉ chapters, and the longer days are spread evenly instead of bunching up. Bible in a Year is 1,189 chapters over 365 days: 94 days of 4 chapters and 271 days of 3.
  • Psalms & Proverbs in 31 days. Day d (1–30) is Psalms d, d+30, d+60, d+90 and d+120, plus Proverbs d. The longest psalm, Psalm 119 (176 verses), moves from day 29 to day 31, so day 31 is Psalm 119 and Proverbs 31. Every chapter appears exactly once.
  • Checked off automatically. A chapter is checked when you scroll to its end and stay a moment, or listen to it to the end with the player. Merely opening a chapter does not count. You can also check or uncheck it with the “Mark as read” button on the reading page.
  • Streak. The number of consecutive days on which you finished that day's reading on the day (or ahead of time). Catching up later still counts toward progress, but it does not restore a streak. If you fall behind, “Reset schedule to today” re-plans the rest starting today.
