And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.
Авраам поднялся оттуда к югу и поселился между Кадесом и между Суром; и был на время в Гераре.
Abraham partit de là pour la contrée du midi; il s'établit entre Kadès et Schur, et fit un séjour à Guérar.

And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
И сказал Авраам о Сарре, жене своей: она сестра моя. И послал Авимелех, царь Герарский, и взял Сарру.
Abraham disait de Sara, sa femme: C'est ma soeur. Abimélec, roi de Guérar, fit enlever Sara.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.
И пришел Бог к Авимелеху ночью во сне и сказал ему: вот, ты умрешь за женщину, которую ты взял, ибо она имеет мужа.
Alors Dieu apparut en songe à Abimélec pendant la nuit, et lui dit: Voici, tu vas mourir à cause de la femme que tu as enlevée, car elle a un mari.

But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
Авимелех же не прикасался к ней и сказал: Владыка! неужели ты погубишьи невинный народ?
Abimélec, qui ne s'était point approché d'elle, répondit: Seigneur, ferais-tu périr même une nation juste?

Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
Не сам ли он сказал мне: она сестра моя? И она сама сказала: он брат мой. Я сделал это в простоте сердца моего и в чистоте рук моих.
Ne m'a-t-il pas dit: C'est ma soeur? et elle-même n'a-t-elle pas dit: C'est mon frère? J'ai agi avec un coeur pur et avec des mains innocentes.

And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
И сказал ему Бог во сне: и Я знаю, что ты сделалсие в простоте сердца твоего, и удержал тебя от греха предо Мною, потому и не допустил тебяприкоснуться к ней;
Dieu lui dit en songe: Je sais que tu as agi avec un coeur pur; aussi t'ai-je empêché de pécher contre moi. C'est pourquoi je n'ai pas permis que tu la touchasse.

Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
теперь же возврати жену мужу, ибо он пророк и помолится о тебе, и тыбудешь жив; а если не возвратишь, то знай, что непременно умрешь ты и все твои.
Maintenant, rends la femme de cet homme; car il est prophète, il priera pour toi, et tu vivras. Mais, si tu ne la rends pas, sache que tu mourras, toi et tout ce qui t'appartient.

Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.
И встал Авимелех утром рано, и призвал всех рабов своих, и пересказал все слова сии в уши их; и люди сии весьма испугались.
Abimélec se leva de bon matin, il appela tous ses serviteurs, et leur rapporta toutes ces choses; et ces gens furent saisis d'une grande frayeur.

Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
И призвал Авимелех Авраама и сказал ему: что ты с нами сделал? чем согрешил я против тебя, что ты навел было на меня и на царство мое великий грех? Ты сделал со мною дела, каких не делают.
Abimélec appela aussi Abraham, et lui dit: Qu'est-ce que tu nous as fait? Et en quoi t'ai-je offensé, que tu aies fait venir sur moi et sur mon royaume un si grand péché? Tu as commis à mon égard des actes qui ne doivent pas se commettre.

And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?
И сказал Авимелех Аврааму: что ты имел в виду, когда делал это дело?
Et Abimélec dit à Abraham: Quelle intention avais-tu pour agir de la sorte?

And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.
Авраам сказал: я подумал, что нет на месте сем страха Божия, и убьют меня за жену мою;
Abraham répondit: Je me disais qu'il n'y avait sans doute aucune crainte de Dieu dans ce pays, et que l'on me tuerait à cause de ma femme.

And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.
да она и подлинно сестра мне: она дочь отца моего, только не дочь матери моей; и сделалась моею женою;
De plus, il est vrai qu'elle est ma soeur, fille de mon père; seulement, elle n'est pas fille de ma mère; et elle est devenue ma femme.

And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
когда Бог повел меня странствовать из дома отца моего, то я сказал ей: сделай со мною сию милость, в какое ни придем мы место, везде говори обо мне: это брат мой.
Lorsque Dieu me fit errer loin de la maison de mon père, je dis à Sara: Voici la grâce que tu me feras; dans tous les lieux où nous irons, dis de moi: C'est mon frère.

And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
И взял Авимелех мелкого и крупного скота, и рабови рабынь, и дал Аврааму; и возвратил ему Сарру, жену его.
Abimélec prit des brebis et des boeufs, des serviteurs et des servantes, et les donna à Abraham; et il lui rendit Sara, sa femme.

And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.
И сказал Авимелех: вот, земля моя пред тобою; живи, где тебе угодно.
Abimélec dit: Voici, mon pays est devant toi; demeure où il te plaira.

And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.
И Сарре сказал: вот, я дал брату твоему тысячу сиклей серебра; вот, это тебе покрывало для очей пред всеми, которые с тобою, и пред всеми ты оправдана.
Et il dit à Sara: Voici, je donne à ton frère mille pièces d'argent; cela te sera un voile sur les yeux pour tous ceux qui sont avec toi, et auprès de tous tu seras justifiée.

So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
И помолился Авраам Богу, и исцелил Бог Авимелеха, и жену его, и рабынь его, и они стали рождать;
Abraham pria Dieu, et Dieu guérit Abimélec, sa femme et ses servantes; et elles purent enfanter.

For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
ибо заключил Господь всякое чрево в доме Авимелеха за Сарру, жену Авраамову.
Car l'Éternel avait frappé de stérilité toute la maison d'Abimélec, à cause de Sara, femme d'Abraham.
