وكان في الارض جوع غير الجوع الاول الذي كان في ايام ابراهيم. فذهب اسحق الى ابيمالك ملك الفلسطينيين الى جرار.
Il y eut une famine dans le pays, outre la première famine qui eut lieu du temps d'Abraham; et Isaac alla vers Abimélec, roi des Philistins, à Guérar.
And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

وظهر له الرب وقال لا تنزل الى مصر. اسكن في الارض التي اقول لك.
L'Éternel lui apparut, et dit: Ne descends pas en Égypte, demeure dans le pays que je te dirai.
And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

تغرب في هذه الارض. فاكون معك واباركك. لاني لك ولنسلك اعطي جميع هذه البلاد وافي بالقسم الذي اقسمت لابراهيم ابيك.
Séjourne dans ce pays-ci: je serai avec toi, et je te bénirai, car je donnerai toutes ces contrées à toi et à ta postérité, et je tiendrai le serment que j'ai fait à Abraham, ton père.
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

واكثر نسلك كنجوم السماء واعطي نسلك جميع هذه البلاد وتتبارك في نسلك جميع امم الارض.
Je multiplierai ta postérité comme les étoiles du ciel; je donnerai à ta postérité toutes ces contrées; et toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité,
And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

من اجل ان ابراهيم سمع لقولي وحفظ ما يحفظ لي اوامري وفرائضي وشرائعي.
parce qu'Abraham a obéi à ma voix, et qu'il a observé mes ordres, mes commandements, mes statuts et mes lois.
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

فاقام اسحق في جرار
Et Isaac resta à Guérar.
And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

وسأله اهل المكان عن امرأته. فقال هي اختي. لانه خاف ان يقول امرأتي لعل اهل المكان يقتلونني من اجل رفقة لانها كانت حسنة المنظر.
Lorsque les gens du lieu faisaient des questions sur sa femme, il disait: C'est ma soeur; car il craignait, en disant ma femme, que les gens du lieu ne le tuassent, parce que Rebecca était belle de figure.
And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

وحدث اذ طالت له الايام هناك ان ابيمالك ملك الفلسطينيين اشرف من الكوّة ونظر واذا اسحق يلاعب رفقة امرأته.
Comme son séjour se prolongeait, il arriva qu'Abimélec, roi des Philistins, regardant par la fenêtre, vit Isaac qui plaisantait avec Rebecca, sa femme.
And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

فدعا ابيمالك اسحق وقال انما هي امرأتك. فكيف قلت هي اختي. فقال له اسحق لاني قلت لعلي اموت بسببها.
Abimélec fit appeler Isaac, et dit: Certainement, c'est ta femme. Comment as-tu pu dire: C'est ma soeur? Isaac lui répondit: J'ai parlé ainsi, de peur de mourir à cause d'elle.
And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.

فقال ابيمالك ما هذا الذي صنعت بنا. لولا قليل لاضطجع احد الشعب مع امرأتك فجلبت علينا ذنبا.
Et Abimélec dit: Qu'est-ce que tu nous as fait? Peu s'en est fallu que quelqu'un du peuple n'ait couché avec ta femme, et tu nous aurais rendus coupables.
And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

فاوصى ابيمالك جميع الشعب قائلا الذي يمسّ هذا الرجل او امرأته موتا يموت
Alors Abimélec fit cette ordonnance pour tout le peuple: Celui qui touchera à cet homme ou à sa femme sera mis à mort.
And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

وزرع اسحق في تلك الارض فاصاب في تلك السنة مئة ضعف وباركه الرب.
Isaac sema dans ce pays, et il recueillit cette année le centuple; car l'Éternel le bénit.
Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

فتعاظم الرجل وكان يتزايد في التعاظم حتى صار عظيما جدا.
Cet homme devint riche, et il alla s'enrichissant de plus en plus, jusqu'à ce qu'il devint fort riche.
And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

فكان له مواش من الغنم ومواش من البقر وعبيد كثيرون. فحسده الفلسطينيون.
Il avait des troupeaux de menu bétail et des troupeaux de gros bétail, et un grand nombre de serviteurs: aussi les Philistins lui portèrent envie.
For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

وجميع الآبار التي حفرها عبيد ابيه في ايام ابراهيم ابيه طمّها الفلسطينيون وملأوها ترابا.
Tous les puits qu'avaient creusés les serviteurs de son père, du temps d'Abraham, son père, les Philistins les comblèrent et les remplirent de poussière.
For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

وقال أبيمالك لاسحق اذهب من عندنا لانك صرت اقوى منا جدا.
Et Abimélec dit à Isaac: Va-t-en de chez nous, car tu es beaucoup plus puissant que nous.
And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

فمضى اسحق من هناك ونزل في وادي جرار واقام هناك
Isaac partit de là, et campa dans la vallée de Guérar, où il s'établit.
And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

فعاد اسحق ونبش آبار الماء التي حفروها في ايام ابراهيم ابيه وطمّها الفلسطينيون بعد موت ابيه. ودعاها باسماء كالاسماء التي دعاها بها ابوه.
Isaac creusa de nouveau les puits d'eau qu'on avait creusés du temps d'Abraham, son père, et qu'avaient comblés les Philistins après la mort d'Abraham; et il leur donna les mêmes noms que son père leur avait donnés.
And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

وحفر عبيد اسحق في الوادي فوجدوا هناك بئر ماء حيّ.
Les serviteurs d'Isaac creusèrent encore dans la vallée, et y trouvèrent un puits d'eau vive.
And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

فخاصم رعاة جرار رعاة اسحق قائلين لنا الماء. فدعا اسم البئر عسق لانهم نازعوه.
Les bergers de Guérar querellèrent les bergers d'Isaac, en disant: L'eau est à nous. Et il donna au puits le nom d'Ések, parce qu'ils s'étaient disputés avec lui.
And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

ثم حفروا بئرا اخرى وتخاصموا عليها ايضا. فدعى اسمها سطنة.
Ses serviteurs creusèrent un autre puits, au sujet duquel on chercha aussi une querelle; et il l'appela Sitna.
And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

ثم نقل من هناك وحفر بئرا اخرى ولم يتخاصموا عليها. فدعا اسمها رحوبوت. وقال انه الآن قد ارحب لنا الرب واثمرنا في الارض.
Il se transporta de là, et creusa un autre puits, pour lequel on ne chercha pas querelle; et il l'appela Rehoboth, car, dit-il, l'Éternel nous a maintenant mis au large, et nous prospérerons dans le pays.
And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

ثم صعد من هناك الى بئر سبع.
Il remonta de là à Beer Schéba.
And he went up from thence to Beersheba.

فظهر له الرب في تلك الليلة وقال انا اله ابراهيم ابيك. لا تخف لاني معك واباركك واكثر نسلك من اجل ابراهيم عبدي.
L'Éternel lui apparut dans la nuit, et dit: Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père; ne crains point, car je suis avec toi; je te bénirai, et je multiplierai ta postérité, à cause d'Abraham, mon serviteur.
And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

فبنى هناك مذبحا ودعا باسم الرب. ونصب هناك خيمته وحفر هناك عبيد اسحق بئرا
Il bâtit là un autel, invoqua le nom de l'Éternel, et y dressa sa tente. Et les serviteurs d'Isaac y creusèrent un puits.
And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

وذهب اليه من جرار ابيمالك وأحزّات من اصحابه وفيكول رئيس جيشه.
Abimélec vint de Guérar auprès de lui, avec Ahuzath, son ami, et Picol, chef de son armée.
Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

فقال لهم اسحق ما بالكم أتيتم اليّ وانتم قد ابغضتموني وصرفتموني من عندكم.
Isaac leur dit: Pourquoi venez-vous vers moi, puisque vous me haïssez et que vous m'avez renvoyé de chez vous?
And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

فقالوا اننا قد رأينا ان الرب كان معك. فقلنا ليكن بيننا حلف بيننا وبينك ونقطع معك عهدا
Ils répondirent: Nous voyons que l'Éternel est avec toi. C'est pourquoi nous disons: Qu'il y ait un serment entre nous, entre nous et toi, et que nous fassions alliance avec toi!
And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

ان لا تصنع بنا شرا. كما لم نمسّك وكما لم نصنع بك الا خيرا وصرفناك بسلام. انت الآن مبارك الرب.
Jure que tu ne nous feras aucun mal, de même que nous ne t'avons point maltraité, que nous t'avons fait seulement du bien, et que nous t'avons laissé partir en paix. Tu es maintenant béni de l'Éternel.
That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

فصنع لهم ضيافة. فأكلوا وشربوا.
Isaac leur fit un festin, et ils mangèrent et burent.
And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink.

31
ثم بكروا في الغد وحلفوا بعضهم لبعض وصرفهم اسحق. فمضوا من عنده بسلام.
Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et se lièrent l'un à l'autre par un serment. Isaac les laissa partir, et ils le quittèrent en paix.
And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

وحدث في ذلك اليوم ان عبيد اسحق جاءوا واخبروه عن البئر التي حفروا وقالوا له قد وجدنا ماء.
Ce même jour, des serviteurs d'Isaac vinrent lui parler du puits qu'ils creusaient, et lui dirent: Nous avons trouvé de l'eau.
And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water.

فدعاها شبعة. لذلك اسم المدينة بئر سبع الى هذا اليوم
Et il l'appela Schiba. C'est pourquoi on a donné à la ville le nom de Beer Schéba, jusqu'à ce jour.
And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

ولما كان عيسو ابن اربعين سنة اتخذ زوجة يهوديت ابنة بيري الحثّي وبسمة ابنة ايلون الحثّي.
Ésaü, âgé de quarante ans, prit pour femmes Judith, fille de Beéri, le Héthien, et Basmath, fille d'Élon, le Héthien.
And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

فكانتا مرارة نفس لاسحق ورفقة
Elles furent un sujet d'amertume pour le coeur d'Isaac et de Rebecca.
Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.
