(40:20) Prendras-tu le crocodile à l'hameçon? Saisiras-tu sa langue avec une corde?
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
네가 능히 낚시로 악어를 낚을 수 있겠느냐 노끈으로 그 혀를 맬수 있겠느냐
(40:20) Можешь ли ты удою вытащить левиафана и веревкою схватить заязык его?

(40:21) Mettras-tu un jonc dans ses narines? Lui perceras-tu la mâchoire avec un crochet?
Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
줄로 그 코를 꿸 수 있겠느냐 갈고리로 그 아가미를 꿸 수 있겠느냐
(40:21) вденешь ли кольцо в ноздри его? проколешь ли иглою челюсть его?

(40:22) Te pressera-t-il de supplication? Te parlera-t-il d'une voix douce?
Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
그것이 어찌 네게 연속 간구하겠느냐 유순한 말로 네게 이야기하겠느냐
(40:22) будет ли он много умолять тебя и будет ли говорить с тобою кротко?

(40:23) Fera-t-il une alliance avec toi, Pour devenir à toujours ton esclave?
Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
어찌 너와 계약하고 영영히 네 종이 되겠느냐
(40:23) сделает ли он договор с тобою, и возьмешь ли его навсегда себе в рабы?

(40:24) Joueras-tu avec lui comme avec un oiseau? L'attacheras-tu pour amuser tes jeunes filles?
Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
네가 어찌 새를 놀리는 것 같이 그것을 놀리겠으며 네 소녀들을 위하여 그것을 매어 두겠느냐
(40:24) станешь ли забавляться им, как птичкою, и свяжешь ли его для девочек твоих?

(40:25) Les pêcheurs en trafiquent-ils? Le partagent-ils entre les marchands?
Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
어찌 어부의 떼가 그것으로 상품을 삼아 상고들 가운데 나눌 수 있겠느냐
(40:25) будут ли продавать его товарищи ловли, разделят ли его между Хананейскими купцами?

(40:26) Couvriras-tu sa peau de dards, Et sa tête de harpons?
Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?
네가 능히 창으로 그 가죽을 찌르거나 작살로 그 머리를 찌를 수 있겠느냐
(40:26) можешь ли пронзить кожу его копьем и голову его рыбачьею острогою?

(40:27) Dresse ta main contre lui, Et tu ne t'aviseras plus de l'attaquer.
Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
손을 그것에게 좀 대어 보라 싸울 일이 생각나서 다시는 아니하리라
(40:27) Клади на него руку твою, и помни о борьбе: вперед не будешь.

(40:28) Voici, on est trompé dans son attente; A son seul aspect n'est-on pas terrassé?
Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
잡으려는 소망은 헛것이라 그것을 보기만 하여도 낙담하지 않겠느냐
(41:1) Надежда тщетна: не упадешь ли от одного взгляда его?

(41:1) Nul n'est assez hardi pour l'exciter; Qui donc me résisterait en face?
None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
아무도 그것을 격동시킬 용맹이 없거든 능히 나를 당할 자가 누구냐
(41:2) Нет столь отважного, который осмелился бы потревожить его; кто же может устоять перед Моим лицем?

(41:2) De qui suis-je le débiteur? Je le paierai. Sous le ciel tout m'appartient.
Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
누가 먼저 내게 주고 나로 갚게 하였느냐 온 천하에 있는 것이 다 내 것이니라
(41:3) Кто предварил Меня, чтобы Мне воздавать ему? под всем небом все Мое.

(41:3) Je veux encore parler de ses membres, Et de sa force, et de la beauté de sa structure.
I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
내가 악어의 지체와 큰 힘과 훌륭한 구조에 대하여 잠잠치 아니하리라
(41:4) Не умолчу о членах его, о силе и красивой соразмерности их.

(41:4) Qui soulèvera son vêtement? Qui pénétrera entre ses mâchoires?
Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
누가 그 가죽을 벗기겠으며 그 아가미 사이로 들어가겠는고
(41:5) Кто может открыть верх одежды его, кто подойдет к двойным челюстям его?

(41:5) Qui ouvrira les portes de sa gueule? Autour de ses dents habite la terreur.
Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
누가 그 얼굴의 문을 열 수 있을까 그 두루 있는 이가 두렵구나
(41:6) Кто может отворить двери лица его? круг зубов его – ужас;

(41:6) Ses magnifiques et puissants boucliers Sont unis ensemble comme par un sceau;
His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
견고한 비늘은 그의 자랑이라 서로 연함이 봉한 것 같구나
(41:7) крепкие щиты его – великолепие; они скреплены как бы твердою печатью;

(41:7) Ils se serrent l'un contre l'autre, Et l'air ne passerait pas entre eux;
One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
이것 저것이 한데 붙었으니 바람도 그 사이로 들어가지 못하겠고
(41:8) один к другому прикасается близко, так что и воздух не проходит между ними;

(41:8) Ce sont des frères qui s'embrassent, Se saisissent, demeurent inséparables.
They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
서로 연하여 붙었으니 능히 나눌 수도 없구나
(41:9) один с другим лежат плотно, сцепились и не раздвигаются.

(41:9) Ses éternuements font briller la lumière; Ses yeux sont comme les paupières de l'aurore.
By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
그것이 재채기를 한즉 광채가 발하고 그 눈은 새벽 눈꺼풀이 열림 같으며
(41:10) От его чихания показывается свет; глаза у него как ресницы зари;

(41:10) Des flammes jaillissent de sa bouche, Des étincelles de feu s'en échappent.
Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
그 입에서는 횃불이 나오고 불똥이 뛰어나며
(41:11) из пасти его выходят пламенники, выскакивают огненные искры;

(41:11) Une fumée sort de ses narines, Comme d'un vase qui bout, d'une chaudière ardente.
Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.
그 콧구멍에서는 연기가 나오니 마치 솥이 끓는 것과 갈대의 타는 것 같구나
(41:12) из ноздрей его выходит дым, как из кипящего горшка или котла.

(41:12) Son souffle allume les charbons, Sa gueule lance la flamme.
His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
그 숨이 능히 숯불을 피우니 불꽃이 그 입에서 나오며
(41:13) Дыхание его раскаляет угли, и из пасти его выходит пламя.

(41:13) La force a son cou pour demeure, Et l'effroi bondit au-devant de lui.
In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
힘이 그 목에 뭉키었고 두려움이 그 앞에서 뛰는구나
(41:14) На шее его обитает сила, и перед ним бежит ужас.

(41:14) Ses parties charnues tiennent ensemble, Fondues sur lui, inébranlables.
The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.
그 살의 조각들이 서로 연하고 그 몸에 견고하여 움직이지 아니하며
(41:15) Мясистые части тела его сплочены между собою твердо, не дрогнут.

(41:15) Son coeur est dur comme la pierre, Dur comme la meule inférieure.
His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.
그 마음이 돌 같이 단단하니 그 단단함이 맷돌 아랫짝 같구나
(41:16) Сердце его твердо, как камень, и жестко, как нижний жернов.

(41:16) Quand il se lève, les plus vaillants ont peur, Et l'épouvante les fait fuir.
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
그것이 일어나면 용사라도 두려워하며 경겁하여 창황하며
(41:17) Когда он поднимается, силачи в страхе, совсем теряются от ужаса.

(41:17) C'est en vain qu'on l'attaque avec l'épée; La lance, le javelot, la cuirasse, ne servent à rien.
The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
칼로 칠지라도 쓸데없고 창이나 살이나 작살도 소용이 없구나
(41:18) Меч, коснувшийся его, не устоит, ни копье, ни дротик, ни латы.

(41:18) Il regarde le fer comme de la paille, L'airain comme du bois pourri.
He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.
그것이 철을 초개 같이, 놋을 썩은 나무 같이 여기니
(41:19) Железо он считает за солому, медь – за гнилое дерево.

(41:19) La flèche ne le met pas en fuite, Les pierres de la fronde sont pour lui du chaume.
The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
살이라도 그것으로 도망하게 못하겠고 물매돌도 그것에게는 겨같이 여기우는구나
(41:20) Дочь лука не обратит его в бегство; пращные камни обращаются для него в плеву.

(41:20) Il ne voit dans la massue qu'un brin de paille, Il rit au sifflement des dards.
Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.
몽둥이도 검불 같이 보고 창을 던짐을 우습게 여기며
(41:21) Булава считается у него за соломину; свисту дротика он смеется.

(41:21) Sous son ventre sont des pointes aiguës: On dirait une herse qu'il étend sur le limon.
Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.
그 배 아래는 날카로운 와륵 같으니 진흙 위에 타작 기계 같이 자취를 내는구나
(41:22) Под ним острые камни, и он на острых камнях лежит в грязи.

(41:22) Il fait bouillir le fond de la mer comme une chaudière, Il l'agite comme un vase rempli de parfums.
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
깊은 물로 솥의 물이 끓음 같게 하며 바다로 젖는 향기름 같게 하고
(41:23) Он кипятит пучину, как котел, и море претворяет в кипящую мазь;

(41:23) Il laisse après lui un sentier lumineux; L'abîme prend la chevelure d'un vieillard.
He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
자기 뒤에 광채나는 길을 내니 사람의 보기에 바닷물이 백발 같구나
(41:24) оставляет за собою светящуюся стезю; бездна кажется сединою.

(41:24) Sur la terre nul n'est son maître; Il a été créé pour ne rien craindre.
Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
땅 위에는 그것 같은 것이 없나니 두려움 없게 지음을 받았음이라
(41:25) Нет на земле подобного ему; он сотворен бесстрашным;

(41:25) Il regarde avec dédain tout ce qui est élevé, Il est le roi des plus fiers animaux.
He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
모든 높은 것을 낮게 보고 모든 교만한 것의 왕이 되느니라
(41:26) на все высокое смотрит смело; он царь над всеми сынами гордости.
