Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume. Éternel! tu me sondes et tu me connais,
(138:1) Начальнику хора. Псалом Давида. Господи! Ты испытал меня изнаешь.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Tu sais quand je m'assieds et quand je me lève, Tu pénètres de loin ma pensée;
(138:2) Ты знаешь, когда я сажусь и когда встаю; Ты разумеешь помышления мои издали.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Tu sais quand je marche et quand je me couche, Et tu pénètres toutes mes voies.
(138:3) Иду ли я, отдыхаю ли – Ты окружаешь меня, и все пути мои известны Тебе.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Car la parole n'est pas sur ma langue, Que déjà, ô Éternel! tu la connais entièrement.
(138:4) Еще нет слова на языке моем, – Ты, Господи, уже знаешь его совершенно.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

Tu m'entoures par derrière et par devant, Et tu mets ta main sur moi.
(138:5) Сзади и спереди Ты объемлешь меня, и полагаешь на мне рукуТвою.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Une science aussi merveilleuse est au-dessus de ma portée, Elle est trop élevée pour que je puisse la saisir.
(138:6) Дивно для меня ведение Твое, – высоко, не могу постигнуть его!
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Où irais-je loin de ton esprit, Et où fuirais-je loin de ta face?
(138:7) Куда пойду от Духа Твоего, и от лица Твоего куда убегу?
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

Si je monte aux cieux, tu y es; Si je me couche au séjour des morts, t'y voilà.
(138:8) Взойду ли на небо – Ты там; сойду ли в преисподнюю – и там Ты.
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Si je prends les ailes de l'aurore, Et que j'aille habiter à l'extrémité de la mer,
(138:9) Возьму ли крылья зари и переселюсь на край моря, –
If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Là aussi ta main me conduira, Et ta droite me saisira.
(138:10) и там рука Твоя поведет меня, и удержит меня десница Твоя.
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Si je dis: Au moins les ténèbres me couvriront, La nuit devient lumière autour de moi;
(138:11) Скажу ли: „может быть, тьма скроет меня, и свет вокруг меня сделается ночью";
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Même les ténèbres ne sont pas obscures pour toi, La nuit brille comme le jour, Et les ténèbres comme la lumière.
(138:12) но и тьма не затмит от Тебя, и ночь светла, как день: как тьма, так и свет.
Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

C'est toi qui as formé mes reins, Qui m'as tissé dans le sein de ma mère.
(138:13) Ибо Ты устроил внутренности мои и соткал меня во чреве материмоей.
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

Je te loue de ce que je suis une créature si merveilleuse. Tes oeuvres sont admirables, Et mon âme le reconnaît bien.
(138:14) Славлю Тебя, потому что я дивно устроен. Дивны дела Твои, и душа моя вполне сознает это.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Mon corps n'était point caché devant toi, Lorsque j'ai été fait dans un lieu secret, Tissé dans les profondeurs de la terre.
(138:15) Не сокрыты были от Тебя кости мои, когда я созидаем был в тайне, образуем был во глубине утробы.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Quand je n'étais qu'une masse informe, tes yeux me voyaient; Et sur ton livre étaient tous inscrits Les jours qui m'étaient destinés, Avant qu'aucun d'eux existât.
(138:16) Зародыш мой видели очи Твои; в Твоей книге записаны все дни, для меня назначенные, когда ни одного из них еще не было.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Que tes pensées, ô Dieu, me semblent impénétrables! Que le nombre en est grand!
(138:17) Как возвышенны для меня помышления Твои, Боже, и как велико число их!
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Si je les compte, elles sont plus nombreuses que les grains de sable. Je m'éveille, et je suis encore avec toi.
(138:18) Стану ли исчислять их, но они многочисленнее песка; когда я пробуждаюсь, я все еще с Тобою.
If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

O Dieu, puisses-tu faire mourir le méchant! Hommes de sang, éloignez-vous de moi!
(138:19) О, если бы Ты, Боже, поразил нечестивого! Удалитесь от меня, кровожадные!
Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

Ils parlent de toi d'une manière criminelle, Ils prennent ton nom pour mentir, eux, tes ennemis!
(138:20) Они говорят против Тебя нечестиво; суетное замышляют врагиТвои.
For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Éternel, n'aurais-je pas de la haine pour ceux qui te haïssent, Du dégoût pour ceux qui s'élèvent contre toi?
(138:21) Мне ли не возненавидеть ненавидящих Тебя, Господи, и не возгнушаться восстающими на Тебя?
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

Je les hais d'une parfaite haine; Ils sont pour moi des ennemis.
(138:22) Полною ненавистью ненавижу их: враги они мне.
I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Sonde-moi, ô Dieu, et connais mon coeur! Éprouve-moi, et connais mes pensées!
(138:23) Испытай меня, Боже, и узнай сердце мое; испытай меня и узнай помышления мои;
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Regarde si je suis sur une mauvaise voie, Et conduis-moi sur la voie de l'éternité!
(138:24) и зри, не на опасном ли я пути, и направь меня на путь вечный.
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
