To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
لامام المغنين. مزمور لداود عندما جاء اليه ناثان النبي بعد ما دخل الى بثشبع. ارحمني يا الله حسب رحمتك. حسب كثرة رأفتك امح معاصيّ.
(51:1) Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David. (51:2) Lorsque Nathan, le prophète, vint à lui, après que David fut allé vers Bath Schéba. (51:3) O Dieu! aie pitié de moi dans ta bonté; Selon ta grande miséricorde, efface mes transgressions;

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
اغسلني كثيرا من اثمي ومن خطيتي طهرني.
(51:4) Lave-moi complètement de mon iniquité, Et purifie-moi de mon péché.

For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
لاني عارف بمعاصيّ وخطيتي امامي دائما.
(51:5) Car je reconnais mes transgressions, Et mon péché est constamment devant moi.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
اليك وحدك اخطأت والشر قدام عينيك صنعت لكي تتبرر في اقوالك وتزكو في قضائك.
(51:6) J'ai péché contre toi seul, Et j'ai fait ce qui est mal à tes yeux, En sorte que tu seras juste dans ta sentence, Sans reproche dans ton jugement.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
هانذا بالاثم صوّرت وبالخطية حبلت بي امي
(51:7) Voici, je suis né dans l'iniquité, Et ma mère m'a conçu dans le péché.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
ها قد سررت بالحق في الباطن ففي السريرة تعرّفني حكمة.
(51:8) Mais tu veux que la vérité soit au fond du coeur: Fais donc pénétrer la sagesse au dedans de moi!

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
طهّرني بالزوفا فاطهر. اغسلني فابيضّ اكثر من الثلج.
(51:9) Purifie-moi avec l'hysope, et je serai pur; Lave-moi, et je serai plus blanc que la neige.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
اسمعني سرورا وفرحا. فتبتهج عظام سحقتها.
(51:10) Annonce-moi l'allégresse et la joie, Et les os que tu as brisés se réjouiront.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
استر وجهك عن خطاياي وامح كل آثامي
(51:11) Détourne ton regard de mes péchés, Efface toutes mes iniquités.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
قلبا نقيا اخلق فيّ يا الله وروحا مستقيما جدّد في داخلي.
(51:12) O Dieu! crée en moi un coeur pur, Renouvelle en moi un esprit bien disposé.

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
لا تطرحني من قدام وجهك وروحك القدوس لا تنزعه مني.
(51:13) Ne me rejette pas loin de ta face, Ne me retire pas ton esprit saint.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
رد لي بهجة خلاصك وبروح منتدبة اعضدني.
(51:14) Rends-moi la joie de ton salut, Et qu'un esprit de bonne volonté me soutienne!

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
فاعلم الاثمة طرقك والخطاة اليك يرجعون
(51:15) J'enseignerai tes voies à ceux qui les transgressent, Et les pécheurs reviendront à toi.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
نجني من الدماء يا الله اله خلاصي. فيسبح لساني برك.
(51:16) O Dieu, Dieu de mon salut! délivre-moi du sang versé, Et ma langue célébrera ta miséricorde.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
يا رب افتح شفتيّ فيخبر فمي بتسبيحك.
(51:17) Seigneur! ouvre mes lèvres, Et ma bouche publiera ta louange.

For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
لانك لا تسرّ بذبيحة والا فكنت اقدمها. بمحرقة لا ترضى.
(51:18) Si tu eusses voulu des sacrifices, je t'en aurais offert; Mais tu ne prends point plaisir aux holocaustes.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
ذبائح الله هي روح منكسرة. القلب المنكسر والمنسحق يا الله لا تحتقره
(51:19) Les sacrifices qui sont agréables à Dieu, c'est un esprit brisé: O Dieu! tu ne dédaignes pas un coeur brisé et contrit.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
احسن برضاك الى صهيون. ابن اسوار اورشليم.
(51:20) Répands par ta grâce tes bienfaits sur Sion, Bâtis les murs de Jérusalem!

Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
حينئذ تسرّ بذبائح البر محرقة وتقدمة تامة. حينئذ يصعدون على مذبحك عجولا
(51:21) Alors tu agréeras des sacrifices de justice, Des holocaustes et des victimes tout entières; Alors on offrira des taureaux sur ton autel.
