Un fils sage écoute l'instruction de son père, Mais le moqueur n'écoute pas la réprimande.
الابن الحكيم يقبل تأديب ابيه والمستهزئ لا يسمع انتهارا.
A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Par le fruit de la bouche on jouit du bien; Mais ce que désirent les perfides, c'est la violence.
من ثمرة فمه ياكل الانسان خيرا ومرام الغادرين ظلم.
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

Celui qui veille sur sa bouche garde son âme; Celui qui ouvre de grandes lèvres court à sa perte.
من يحفظ فمه يحفظ نفسه. ومن يشحر شفتيه فله هلاك.
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

L'âme du paresseux a des désirs qu'il ne peut satisfaire; Mais l'âme des hommes diligents sera rassasiée.
نفس الكسلان تشتهي ولا شيء لها ونفس المجتهدين تسمن.
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Le juste hait les paroles mensongères; Le méchant se rend odieux et se couvre de honte.
الصدّيق يبغض كلام كذب والشرير يخزي ويخجل.
A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

La justice garde celui dont la voie est intègre, Mais la méchanceté cause la ruine du pécheur.
البر يحفظ الكامل طريقه والشر يقلب الخاطئ.
Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

Tel fait le riche et n'a rien du tout, Tel fait le pauvre et a de grands biens.
يوجد من يتغانى ولا شيء عنده ومن يتفاقر وعنده غنى جزيل.
There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

La richesse d'un homme sert de rançon pour sa vie, Mais le pauvre n'écoute pas la réprimande.
فدية نفس رجل غناه. اما الفقير فلا يسمع انتهارا.
The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

La lumière des justes est joyeuse, Mais la lampe des méchants s'éteint.
نور الصدّيقين يفرح وسراج الاشرار ينطفئ.
The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

C'est seulement par orgueil qu'on excite des querelles, Mais la sagesse est avec ceux qui écoutent les conseils.
الخصام انما يصير بالكبرياء ومع المتشاورين حكمة.
Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

La richesse mal acquise diminue, Mais celui qui amasse peu à peu l'augmente.
غنى البطل يقل والجامع بيده يزداد.
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Un espoir différé rend le coeur malade, Mais un désir accompli est un arbre de vie.
الرجاء المماطل يمرض القلب والشهوة المتممة شجرة حياة.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Celui qui méprise la parole se perd, Mais celui qui craint le précepte est récompensé.
من ازدرى بالكلمة يخرب نفسه ومن خشي الوصية يكافأ.
Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

L'enseignement du sage est une source de vie, Pour détourner des pièges de la mort.
شريعة الحكيم ينبوع حياة للحيدان عن اشراك الموت.
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Une raison saine a pour fruit la grâce, Mais la voie des perfides est rude.
الفطنة الجيدة تمنح نعمة. اما طريق الغادرين فاوعر.
Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Tout homme prudent agit avec connaissance, Mais l'insensé fait étalage de folie.
كل ذكي يعمل بالمعرفة والجاهل ينشر حمقا.
Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.

Un envoyé méchant tombe dans le malheur, Mais un messager fidèle apporte la guérison.
الرسول الشرير يقع في الشر والسفير الامين شفاء.
A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

La pauvreté et la honte sont le partage de celui qui rejette la correction, Mais celui qui a égard à la réprimande est honoré.
فقر وهوان لمن يرفض التأديب. ومن يلاحظ التوبيخ يكرم.
Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

Un désir accompli est doux à l'âme, Mais s'éloigner du mal fait horreur aux insensés.
الشهوة الحاصلة تلذ النفس. اما كراهة الجهال فهي الحيدان عن الشر
The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

Celui qui fréquente les sages devient sage, Mais celui qui se plaît avec les insensés s'en trouve mal.
المساير الحكماء يصير حكيما ورفيق الجهال يضر.
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Le malheur poursuit ceux qui pèchent, Mais le bonheur récompense les justes.
الشر يتبع الخاطئين والصدّيقون يجازون خيرا.
Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

L'homme de bien a pour héritiers les enfants de ses enfants, Mais les richesses du pécheur sont réservées pour le juste.
الصالح يورث بني البنين وثروة الخاطئ تذخر للصدّيق.
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Le champ que défriche le pauvre donne une nourriture abondante, Mais tel périt par défaut de justice.
في حرث الفقراء طعام كثير ويوجد هالك من عدم الحق.
Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

Celui qui ménage sa verge hait son fils, Mais celui qui l'aime cherche à le corriger.
من يمنع عصاه يمقت ابنه ومن احبه يطلب له التأديب.
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Le juste mange et satisfait son appétit, Mais le ventre des méchants éprouve la disette.
الصدّيق يأكل لشبع نفسه. اما بطن الاشرار فيحتاج
The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
